TIAA has appointed Divyangi “Divy” Anchan to its Risk and Compliance Senior Leadership Team as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for Technology and AI Risk.
Anchan joins TIAA with experience at Google, American Express and JPMorgan Chase. She will focus on managing complex technology and artificial-intelligence risks as the financial-services organization continues investing in its technology transformation.
She will operate within TIAA’s Risk and Compliance organization under the leadership of Mike Cowell, the company’s senior executive vice president and chief risk officer.
Anchan said TIAA’s mission of supporting dignified retirement outcomes was an important reason for joining the organization. She also pointed to the estimate that approximately 40% of Americans cannot retire with financial security as a particularly meaningful challenge.
Her appointment comes as financial institutions face expanding governance, compliance, data-security and model-risk considerations related to the adoption of generative AI and other advanced technologies.
