Tillman FiberCo Florida has announced a $60 million investment to build a next-generation open-access fiber network throughout Hernando County, Florida. The project aims to deliver ultra-fast and highly reliable internet to residents and businesses while creating local jobs and enhancing digital connectivity across the region.

The Brooksville-based initiative will establish a 100% fiber infrastructure designed to improve reliability and network capacity, ensuring consistent performance even during Florida’s most severe weather conditions. This large-scale investment aligns with Tillman Fiber’s mission to modernize digital infrastructure and expand broadband access across underserved communities.

Construction for the project began in early 2025, with several neighborhoods already receiving service. Once fully completed, the open-access network will allow residents to select from multiple internet service providers operating on Tillman’s platform. This competitive framework is expected to increase affordability and improve service quality for households and businesses throughout Hernando County.

Beyond its infrastructure benefits, Tillman’s project emphasizes job creation and economic growth. The company is currently hiring for roles in fiber installation, network engineering, and field operations, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening local employment opportunities.

Local leaders have expressed strong support for the investment, highlighting its potential to transform the region’s digital capabilities and resilience. The initiative is expected not only to enhance connectivity but also to bolster education, small business growth, and long-term economic development.
