TMC has acquired WBQ Design & Engineering, expanding the Grovecourt Capital Partners-backed transportation engineering company’s capabilities and relationships across Florida’s public infrastructure market.
WBQ is a Florida-based engineering firm serving public-sector transportation customers, including the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and Central Florida Expressway Authority.
Founded in 1994, WBQ provides transportation engineering and related professional services and has developed longstanding relationships with agencies throughout Florida.
The acquisition complements TMC’s existing roadway, traffic and planning capabilities while providing the combined organization with additional technical resources for transportation and infrastructure projects.
TMC specializes in roadway and traffic design and land development planning for governmental agencies and private clients at the local, county and state levels.
Adding WBQ represents another step in TMC’s strategy of building a larger transportation engineering platform across Florida and the southeastern United States.
WBQ’s team will gain access to the broader resources of TMC while continuing to serve its existing clients.
TMC is backed by Grovecourt Capital Partners, a West Palm Beach private equity firm focused on founder-led and family-owned lower-middle-market businesses.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
