Torys has announced that Michael Feder, K.C., and Deborah Templer are joining the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice as partners, coinciding with the planned opening of a new Torys office in Vancouver. The additions strengthen the firm’s national litigation platform at a time of increasing dispute complexity and growing class action activity across Canada.
Feder is a nationally recognized litigator with extensive experience in complex commercial and public law disputes, including product liability, mass tort and class action matters. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and holds membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel, positioning him among the most credentialed litigators in the country.
Templer brings a leading practice in complex commercial and class action disputes, with one of Canada’s preeminent product liability and mass tort litigation practices. She serves as a director of The Advocates’ Society, chairs Pro Bono Ontario’s board of directors, co-chairs the American Bar Association’s Class and Derivative Actions Subcommittee and is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel — a profile that reflects both her legal stature and her commitment to the profession.
Together, the two partners extend Torys’ coast-to-coast litigation capabilities at a strategic moment for the firm. The concurrent Vancouver expansion signals a deliberate investment in geographic reach designed to meet clients wherever litigation risk arises and deliver seamless cross-jurisdictional service across Canada’s national legal landscape.
