Transcat has acquired Southeastern Biomedical Associates for $12.8 million in cash, expanding its biomedical calibration, equipment repair and preventive maintenance capabilities across the southeastern U.S.
The purchase price is subject to customary adjustments and holdback provisions. The acquisition became effective on August 31, 2026.
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Granite Falls, North Carolina, Southeastern provides calibration, repair, preventive maintenance, electrical safety inspection, documentation and regulatory compliance services to hospital networks and healthcare facilities. Its services conform to ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards.
Southeastern also sells biomedical equipment, patient-ready accessories and equipment parts and assists customers with equipment acquisition and asset liquidation.
The acquisition expands Transcat’s existing biomedical operations and supports its strategy of building scale in highly regulated markets where calibration is critical to safety and compliance. Transcat operates more than 30 calibration laboratories across North and Central America.
Southeastern’s owners, Boyd Campbell and Greg Johnson, will remain with Transcat and help drive the growth of the combined biomedical business.
Transcat said acquisitions remain a central part of its growth strategy and expects the Southeastern combination to strengthen its presence in regulated verticals while supporting its fiscal 2027 outlook.
