TransMedics Group has appointed Fernando Araujo as Chief Financial Officer effective September 21, 2026, while reiterating full-year revenue guidance of $737 million to $757 million as the organ transplant technology company prepares for its next phase of global growth.
Araujo brings more than 20 years of public-company finance leadership experience across GE HealthCare, General Electric and 3M.
He succeeds Gerardo Hernandez, who will move into the newly focused role of Commercial Strategic Advisor, LATAM and lead TransMedics’ expansion efforts across Latin America.
TransMedics develops portable warm perfusion technology designed to preserve and assess donor organs before transplantation.
Its Organ Care System, or OCS, is intended to increase the number of donor organs that can potentially be used for patients with end-stage heart, lung and liver failure.
The company is entering a period of broader expansion across products, geography and its National OCS Program, or NOP.
Management is focused on accelerating U.S. NOP heart and lung growth, advancing the OCS Kidney and OCS Gen-3.0 product pipeline, improving operating leverage and expanding its international NOP commercial and logistics infrastructure across Europe.
Araujo most recently served as CFO of GE HealthCare’s Advanced Imaging Solutions segment.
That approximately $16 billion business combines GE HealthCare’s Imaging and Advanced Visualization Solutions operations with its global Integrated Supply Chain and Global Service organizations.
He previously served as GE HealthCare’s Corporate Finance CFO, where he was responsible for financial planning and analysis and finance transformation while working closely with the company’s investor relations organization.
Before GE HealthCare, Araujo served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Enterprise Operations at 3M.
Earlier in his career, he spent 17 years at General Electric in a series of senior finance and CFO positions.
Those roles included CFO of Grid Solutions Latin America, FP&A Leader for GE Energy Connections and CFO of GE Healthcare’s Latin America and U.S. and Canada businesses.
His appointment comes as TransMedics works to scale a business that combines medical devices, clinical services and transplant logistics.
That expansion places increasing demands on finance operations as the company invests in product development, international commercialization and logistics infrastructure.
TransMedics sees Araujo’s experience overseeing finance within large global healthcare and industrial organizations as particularly relevant to those priorities.
The company also reiterated its full-year 2026 revenue forecast of $737 million to $757 million.
That range represents approximately 22% to 25% year-over-year growth.
The outlook continues to exclude any revenue contribution associated with TransMedics’ recent strategic investment in PAD Aviation Service GmbH.
TransMedics expects to revisit its financial outlook when it reports third-quarter 2026 results.
The reaffirmed guidance provides continued visibility into the company’s expected growth as TransMedics expands the adoption of its organ preservation technology and supporting logistics network.
Management sees several potential near-term growth catalysts, including increased U.S. heart and lung activity through the National OCS Program, expansion of the company’s product portfolio and further international growth.
OCS Kidney represents an important potential extension of the platform into another major transplant category.
TransMedics is also developing OCS Gen-3.0 as the next generation of its organ care technology.
At the same time, the company is expanding the logistics capabilities supporting its NOP model.
That infrastructure is intended to create a more integrated transplant network combining organ preservation technology with the transportation and operational services required to move donor organs between locations.
Hernandez’s transition to focus on Latin America adds another component to that international strategy.
TransMedics said its LATAM commercial opportunity is beginning to materialize and believes Hernandez’s familiarity with the business positions him to accelerate the company’s early expansion in the region.
He will work directly with CEO Waleed Hassanein and TransMedics’ international commercial leadership team.
TransMedics is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts and specializes in portable extracorporeal warm perfusion and assessment technology for donor organs.
The company’s broader objective is to increase the availability and utilization of transplantable organs by preserving organ quality and giving physicians additional information about organ viability before transplantation.
