TrialAssure announced that its ANONYMIZE platform has been selected by the European Medicines Agency as an official anonymization tool used within the agency. EMA will use the platform to redact clinical documents, such as dossiers submitted by market authorization holders, to protect the identity and privacy of clinical trial participants.
The redacted documents will be posted publicly in accordance with transparency initiatives like EMA Policy 0043. TrialAssure said the platform is designed to support secure handling of sensitive information across documents, datasets, and images.
The selection followed a structured vendor evaluation and market research process conducted by EMA. TrialAssure participated in that process in 2025 as part of the agency’s effort to identify scalable, compliant solutions for the region’s transparency and data protection requirements.
ANONYMIZE combines AI-assisted detection with expert oversight to help organizations protect patient privacy while maintaining the scientific utility of clinical data. TrialAssure, founded in 2009, was named Data Solution of the Year by the Data Breakthrough Awards.
