Tricentis has acquired Tabnine, an enterprise AI coding platform focused on secure and context-aware software development. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Tricentis plans to integrate Tabnine’s Enterprise Context Engine into its Agentic Quality Engineering Platform.
The company said the combination will give AI-powered software testing and quality agents a deeper understanding of the systems, applications, dependencies and architectural standards within large enterprise technology environments.
Tabnine’s Enterprise Context Engine develops a continuously updated knowledge graph of an organization’s software estate.
It can extract entities, relationships, dependencies and architectural patterns from source code repositories, technical documentation, support tickets, APIs and infrastructure metadata.
Tricentis said conventional retrieval-augmented generation systems may struggle to accurately model interconnected enterprise software environments.
Without sufficient context, autonomous software agents could incorrectly assess risk, overlook dependencies or provide misleading confidence about the quality of a release.
The acquired technology will support enterprise context modeling, real-time organizational intelligence, dependency analysis, automated governance and shared memory across multiple quality agents.
It can also be deployed on-premises, within a private virtual cloud or in fully air-gapped environments for organizations with strict security and compliance requirements.
Organizations using Tabnine’s Enterprise Context Engine have reported up to a twofold improvement in AI accuracy, an 80% reduction in token usage and a 50% decrease in the time needed to resolve complex tasks.
Tricentis expects those improvements to result in fewer false positives, fewer missed defects and faster testing cycles.
The company serves more than 3,000 customers, including Experian, T-Mobile, Jaguar Land Rover, Allianz, Telstra, Dolby and VodafoneZiggo.
