Trident Solutions, a provider of space and defense hardware and software, announced it has acquired Ibeos, a developer of space-qualified avionics, including power systems, flight computers, processing and data storage units, and high-density batteries.

The acquisition strengthens Trident’s space electronics portfolio and expands its ability to deliver integrated power, computing, and networking technologies for government and commercial space missions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ibeos brings specialized expertise in radiation-hardening and thermal optimization for power systems, high-performance processing solutions, and energy storage products. These capabilities complement Trident’s existing leadership in on-orbit mission data processors and networking systems.

Following the acquisition, the combined organization plans to deliver a broader electronics portfolio designed to meet the reliability and performance requirements of space environments. The integration is expected to enhance Trident’s ability to support national security missions, including Golden Dome, space domain awareness, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and space superiority initiatives, as well as civil and commercial space customers.

Trident said the combination also strengthens its ability to scale modular space-rated power systems, batteries, and computing architectures while expanding its intellectual property portfolio and simplifying procurement and system integration for customers.

Through its Space Electronic Systems (SES) unit, Trident will now offer an integrated platform featuring FPGA, GPU, and GPP mission data processing, payload control, network processors, data compression and storage, high-density batteries, and power supply technologies.

Ibeos will continue supporting its existing customers and programs while leveraging Trident’s operational scale, production capabilities, and engineering infrastructure. The companies also plan closer collaboration between engineering teams to develop next-generation radiation-hardened electronics designed for proliferated satellite architectures.

Support: King & Spalding and Morrison & Foerster served as legal counsel to Trident in the transaction, while Holland & Knight LLP advised Ibeos.
