Trinity Consultants has acquired Meridian Consultants, adding a California-based environmental and natural resource planning firm as Trinity continues to broaden its environmental consulting capabilities and deepen its presence in the Western U.S.
Trinity, a global environmental consulting firm serving markets that include EHS regulatory compliance, the built environment, life sciences, and water and ecology, said Meridian will operate within its environmental consulting business. The combination is expected to strengthen Trinity’s ability to support clients navigating regulatory review and permitting requirements tied to extensive, public-facing development and infrastructure projects, particularly in California, where environmental review processes can be complex and fast-changing.
Meridian brings specialized experience in compliance and documentation under the California Environmental Quality Act and the National Environmental Policy Act, along with land-use planning services. The firm’s scope of work includes regulatory permitting, air quality and greenhouse gas studies, noise studies, and water supply assessments and verifications. Trinity said the acquisition will expand its capacity to deliver environmental review and compliance work for clients with projects that face significant community and stakeholder engagement, as well as heightened legal and regulatory scrutiny.
Founded in 2012, Meridian has worked with public agencies, private property owners, and developers, and has built a reputation around technical analysis and interpretation of California’s evolving regulatory landscape. Trinity said Meridian’s local relationships and specialized expertise will complement Trinity’s existing team across CEQA, NEPA, and land use, bringing the groups together within a unified platform for clients in California and the broader Western U.S.
As part of the integration, Meridian’s leadership team, including partner and co-founder Tony Locacciato, Mark Austin, and Christ Kirikian, will remain active in Trinity’s environmental consulting division. They will work with Vineet Masuraha, who leads environmental consulting for Trinity’s west region, and with Eddie Al Rayes, regional director for Trinity’s California and Phoenix environmental consulting operations.
The deal represents another step in Trinity’s expansion strategy, which has combined organic growth with targeted acquisitions to add technical depth as environmental regulations, permitting demands, and stakeholder expectations continue to intensify across major capital projects.
