Trinity Logistics has completed the full acquisition of Granite Logistics, bringing a longtime freight agent partner fully into its organization and expanding its regional footprint in the Upper Midwest.

The deal adds two new Regional Service Centers in Sartell and Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Trinity’s national third-party logistics network. Trinity said both locations will continue operating under the leadership of Paul Nelson, senior vice president of strategic development, with the existing teams maintaining shipper and carrier relationships during the transition.

Granite Logistics is known for specialized freight capabilities, including flatbed, over-dimensional, and heavy haul shipments. Trinity said the acquisition strengthens its ability to serve customers with complex transportation needs while extending its operational reach across North America.

Sarah Ruffcorn, president of Trinity Logistics, said the move formalizes a relationship that has spanned nearly 14 years and brings Granite’s expertise and culture into the broader organization. Granite co-owners Jeff Smiens and Pat Lynch said the acquisition is designed to expand what the business can offer while keeping continuity for customers, carriers, and employees.

As part of the transaction, approximately 135 team members are joining Trinity Logistics. The company said operations at both Minnesota offices will continue without interruption, aiming to ensure a seamless experience for shippers and carriers.

The acquisition marks a growth milestone for Trinity as it scales its nationwide presence and adds depth in specialized freight services.
