Trip.com Group reported continued international expansion during the second quarter of 2026 as resilient travel demand helped revenue increase despite macroeconomic and regulatory pressures.
Total net revenue increased 6% year over year to RMB15.7 billion, or approximately $2.3 billion. Revenue generated through Trip.com’s international platform grew more than 50%, while inbound travel revenue increased at a high-double-digit rate.
Accommodation reservation revenue increased 6% to RMB6.6 billion, packaged-tour revenue rose 8% to RMB1.2 billion and corporate travel revenue increased 11% to RMB771 million.
Transportation ticketing revenue decreased 1% to RMB5.4 billion as elevated energy prices and geopolitical volatility affected travel activity.
The quarter was significantly affected by a RMB5.2 billion, or approximately $763 million, anti-monopoly penalty imposed by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation.
As a result, Trip.com reported a RMB2.4 billion net loss. Excluding the penalty, quarterly net income would have been RMB2.7 billion, or approximately $402 million. Non-GAAP net income attributable to shareholders was RMB4.8 billion, or $706 million.
Non-GAAP diluted earnings were RMB7.27, or $1.07 per ADS, compared with RMB7.20 a year earlier.
Trip.com ended June with RMB100.5 billion, or $14.8 billion, across cash, restricted cash, short-term investments, time deposits and other financial products.
The company continues investing heavily in technology, including proprietary AI capabilities intended to support its “Globalization and Great Quality” strategy. Management is applying AI throughout the travel journey while expanding international marketing, travel experiences and partner services.
