Trooly Raises Nearly $20 Million Seed and Launches AI Research Platform for In-Depth Consumer Interviews

Trooly has launched its AI native user research platform and opened its first public beta in North America, backed by nearly $20 million in seed funding. The platform is designed to conduct 45-minute in-depth interviews with consumers around the world, aiming to match the depth of a senior research interview through an intelligent follow-up engine that determines each next question based on the participant’s prior responses rather than a fixed script.

The company said its approach differs from tools that optimize for running large volumes of short, survey-style sessions quickly. Instead, Trooly focuses on the depth of each individual conversation. The new funding will support continued research and development on the platform’s multimodal voice agent technology, expansion of a global panel of interview participants, and growth among globally scaling companies and decision-dense industries.

Trooly runs as a four-step workflow, starting with framing the research question, followed by recruiting participants from a pool the company said spans 180 million respondents across more than 30 countries, then conducting the 45-minute interview, and finally delivering an interactive report. The company said the process runs at roughly 20 times the speed and one tenth the cost of traditional research methods. More than 400 teams across gaming, consumer goods, manufacturing, and lifestyle apps currently use the platform.

KEY QUOTE:

“Speed and volume aren’t the hard part of AI research anymore. Depth is. A great interview is not just a fast survey. It’s a real conversation where every answer earns a sharper next question. We built Trooly so any team, anywhere, can have that conversation with their customers, and find out what’s next before their competitors do.”
