Troutman Pepper Locke has added Dan Monger as a partner in its Real Estate Practice Group in Boston, expanding the firm’s national real estate capabilities with an attorney whose practice spans more than 40 states.
Monger joins from ArentFox Schiff, where he advised investment funds, REITs, private equity firms, commercial developers, Fortune 500 companies, national retailers and commercial lenders.
His practice covers acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, real estate finance, development and other complex commercial real estate transactions.
Monger has represented a publicly traded industrial REIT in more than 200 property acquisitions across the U.S.
He has also negotiated leases covering millions of square feet of office, retail and industrial space for both landlords and tenants.
His transactional experience includes more than $1 billion in sale-leaseback transactions.
Monger also advises clients on the real estate aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions as well as distressed loan workouts and foreclosures.
His background includes experience in architecture, permitting and construction, which Troutman Pepper Locke said will strengthen its ability to advise clients throughout the lifecycle of commercial real estate projects.
Monger’s addition follows the recent arrival of real estate partner Kate Pennartz in Troutman Pepper Locke’s Dallas office.
The hires are part of the firm’s broader effort to expand its national Real Estate Practice Group.
Troutman Pepper Locke’s real estate team advises owners, developers and financing providers on major private- and public-sector projects.
The broader firm has more than 1,600 attorneys across more than 30 offices and has significant practices in energy, financial services, healthcare and life sciences, insurance and reinsurance, private equity and real estate.
