Troutman Pepper Locke Adds Lauren Emery As Labor And Employment Partner In Chicago

Troutman Pepper Locke has added Lauren Emery as a partner in its Labor and Employment Practice Group in Chicago, strengthening the firm’s management-side labor capabilities and its presence in the market.

Emery joins from Morgan Lewis, where she advised employers on labor disputes and litigation, collective bargaining and negotiations, union campaigns, labor arbitrations, the labor aspects of mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings, and other union-related matters.

She previously served as Senior Staff Counsel to the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, giving her experience with NLRB proceedings and federal labor policy.

Since her time at the NLRB, Emery has developed a practice covering National Labor Relations Act litigation, including unfair labor practice and representation proceedings and appeals.

Her experience also includes advising employers on joint-employer issues, the Cemex doctrine, noncompete developments and enforceable employment contracts and workplace policies.

Troutman Pepper Locke said Emery’s addition comes as demand for traditional labor counsel continues to grow.

The firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group advises employers ranging from Fortune 100 companies to emerging businesses on workplace matters across national, international and regional markets.

Troutman Pepper Locke has more than 1,600 attorneys across more than 30 offices, with practices spanning areas including energy, financial services, healthcare and life sciences, insurance and reinsurance, private equity and real estate.
