Troutman Pepper Locke announced that Allison Perlman has joined the firm’s Energy Transactional Practice Group as a partner in its Los Angeles office, strengthening the firm’s West Coast energy and infrastructure capabilities.

Perlman joins from McDermott Will & Schulte, where she advised investors, lenders, and developers on transactions involving renewable energy and energy transition projects globally. Her practice spans the full lifecycle of renewable energy transactions, including project finance, project development, mergers and acquisitions, tax equity and tax credit transfer transactions, equipment supply agreements, and other key commercial arrangements for wind, solar, storage, and emerging renewable technologies. She regularly structures complex capital arrangements and negotiates risk allocation for projects from development through construction and operations.

In addition to renewable energy, Perlman has significant experience advising on large-scale infrastructure projects, including transportation, broadband, and social infrastructure. She has counseled public authorities, sponsors, contractors, and lenders on domestic and cross-border transactions across North America and overseas. Among her notable works, she represented a developer on a major Midwest solar project, handling multimillion-dollar financing transactions for what would become one of the largest photovoltaic facilities in the U.S. She has also advised clients on the negotiation and documentation of construction and letter-of-credit facilities for wind project developments.

The firm said the hire supports its continued investment in its energy platform and its strategic priorities in California. Troutman Pepper Locke’s energy practices advise clients across the electric power, oil and gas, and emerging technologies sectors, serving electric utilities, independent power producers, banks, upstream and midstream natural gas companies and service providers, private equity funds, and other large corporations throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Troutman Pepper Locke has more than 1,600 attorneys across more than 30 offices and serves clients in major industry sectors, including energy, financial services, health care and life sciences, insurance and reinsurance, private equity, and real estate.
