Truckstop.com announced that it has acquired Wize Load as part of a broader push into heavy haul, oversized, and specialized freight solutions. The deal strengthens Truckstop’s ability to support freight that requires more planning than standard truckload shipments.
The acquisition brings Wize Load’s rate intelligence technology into Truckstop’s platform, rebranded as Truckstop Heavy Haul Rates. The solution integrates lane data, permit requirements, and equipment specifications to help brokers more accurately and efficiently price complex shipments.
Heavy haul and overdimensional freight often involves additional considerations such as permits, escorts, routing restrictions, and specialized equipment. These factors make pricing and logistics more complex compared to traditional freight. By consolidating these variables into a single platform, Truckstop aims to streamline quoting and improve operational efficiency for brokers and carriers.
Truckstop stated that customers already rely on this type of data to quote complex freight faster, win more loads, and protect margins. The company is continuing to invest in tools tailored for freight that does not move dock to dock, including its Heavy Haul Load Board, which connects carriers operating open deck, flatbed, and specialized equipment with relevant loads.
The newly integrated Truckstop Heavy Haul Rates product will continue to operate with the same login and workflow currently used by customers, while the company expands its capabilities in pricing, planning, and executing specialized freight shipments.
