True Anomaly, a defense technology company building autonomous spacecraft and space superiority systems for the U.S. military and its allies, has raised $650 million in Series D financing at a $2.2 billion valuation. The round brings the company’s total capital raised to $1 billion since its founding in 2022.
The round was co-led by Eclipse and Riot Ventures, with new investors including Paradigm, Atreides, G Squared, The Private Shares Fund, and VanEck, alongside existing investors Accel, Menlo Ventures, ACME Capital, Space VC, Meritech Capital, Narya, and 645 Ventures. The financing includes $50 million in debt provided by Stifel Bank.
In four years, True Anomaly has developed and deployed Jackal, an autonomous orbital vehicle, Mosaic, a mission autonomy software platform, and a payload suite spanning multiple sensing modalities. The company was also recently named a prime contractor on the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command Space-Based Interceptor Program, expanding its role in protecting the United States homeland from ballistic missile and hypersonic threats.
The new capital will be used to accelerate delivery across True Anomaly’s product portfolio, including autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission autonomy software, and space-based interceptors. The company plans to grow to more than 500 employees by the end of 2026 and expand its manufacturing capabilities. Over the next 18 months, True Anomaly expects to conduct a dozen missions, including the VICTUS HAZE Tactically Responsive Space demonstration and multiple missions in low Earth orbit and geostationary orbit.
True Anomaly is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional offices in Colorado Springs, Washington D.C., and Long Beach, California.
KEY QUOTES:
“Space superiority is no longer theoretical. It is a requirement for the Joint Forces to be able to operate freely in any domain. The doctrine and capabilities required for space superiority are nascent, and industry’s bias towards ‘dual use’ platforms is rendering combat effects against modern threats underserved and unsustainable. This capital, as with all of our funding rounds, will be invested entirely in space dominance at scale. We will continue to design and deliver the next generation of products the U.S. and its Allies need for space superiority.”
Even Rogers, CEO and Co-Founder, True Anomaly
“True Anomaly is taking on one of the most consequential challenges of this decade and will define how the U.S. operates and wins in space, not someday, but today. The True Anomaly team has combined relentless focus with an ability to design, build, and deploy at a pace this category has never seen, all in service of the warfighter. True Anomaly is what it looks like when speed, focus, and mission alignment converge at scale.”
Seth Winterroth, Partner, Eclipse
“Space is a warfighting domain, and to sustain deterrence the U.S. needs companies that can build, deploy, and scale in the face of a rapidly evolving threat landscape. True Anomaly is that company, and this capital arms them with the means to deliver for the warfighter.”
Will Coffield, Partner, Riot Ventures
