Private investment firm True Wind Capital has announced the hiring of Emily M. Brakebill as Partner, Head of Investor Relations. Brakebill joined True Wind effective on March 4, 2024, and will serve on the firm’s Investment Committee.
Brakebill joins True Wind Capital as a seasoned professional with over 25 years of financial services experience. And she spent the last 15 years at HMI Capital Management where she was a co-founding partner and served as Partner, Head of Investor Relations, COO, and CCO. Plus, she has also served on the Management Committee and Investment Committee.
While at HMI, Brakebill grew the firm’s assets under management, primarily from top-tier institutional investors in and outside the US, including endowments, foundations, family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Along with owning all fundraising efforts, Brakebill was responsible for LP relations and investor communications.
Prior to HMI, Brakebill held various investing, advising, strategic development and co-founder positions in corporate finance, specialty finance, at a credit opportunity fund, and at operating businesses. And she graduated from Stanford University, with honors, with an A.B. in History and holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.
