Trustar Bank To Acquire $750 Million In Deposits And Maryland Branches From Forbright For $19 Million Premium

Trustar Bank has signed an agreement to acquire two Maryland branches and a Virginia customer service hub from Forbright Bank in a transaction that includes approximately $750 million in local deposits.

Trustar will pay a deposit premium of approximately $19 million and expects the acquisition to be accretive to 2027 earnings.

The deal includes Forbright’s branches in Potomac and North Bethesda, Maryland, along with its customer service hub in McLean, Virginia.

The acquired locations will expand Trustar’s presence across its existing Washington, D.C.-area markets while adding deposits and customer relationships.

Trustar currently operates full-service branches in Great Falls, Tysons Corner and Reston, Virginia, and Bethesda, Maryland.

It also maintains appointment-only branches in Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Upon closing, the acquired locations will become Trustar Bank branches.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026.
