Tsunami Express Car Wash has announced the completion of a full rebrand and operational overhaul of its acquired Take 5 Car Wash locations, marking one of the most extensive single-portfolio integrations in the express car wash industry to date. The integration spans 53 sites across seven states and goes well beyond visual identity, rebuilding each site’s wash systems, point-of-sale and membership technology, staffing model, and customer experience to a single Tsunami Express standard.
The scope of the integration reflects Tsunami Express’s broader approach to acquisitions as platform-building exercises rather than cosmetic rebrands. Each site underwent a full rebuild of its operational infrastructure, bringing wash quality, technology, and team support into alignment with the company’s existing network before reopening under the Tsunami Express banner. The company said the completed integration sets a new benchmark for the pace at which a multi-site portfolio can be brought to a single operating standard in the express car wash segment.
Tsunami Express, relaunched in 2022 and headquartered in Milwaukee, now operates a network of 74 Midwest express locations following the Take 5 integration. The company said it is turning its attention to the next phase of regional expansion using the same acquisition and integration playbook applied to the Take 5 portfolio. Tsunami Express focuses on long-term, disciplined growth across the Midwest, operating under the brand tagline “Wash. Chill. Repeat.”
KEY QUOTES:
“This is not a cosmetic change — it’s a platform play. Every acquisition is a chance to upgrade the wash, the technology, support for the team, and the customer experience at speed. That discipline is what allows us to grow without losing what makes Tsunami Express work.”
Chris Schuldt, Chief Executive Officer, Tsunami Express Car Wash
