Turion Space announced it has raised more than $75 million in a Series B funding round led by Washington Harbour Partners to accelerate the deployment of its satellite fleet and expand capabilities in space domain awareness. The round includes participation from existing investors such as Aurelia Foundry, Forward Deployed VC, and FoundersX, as well as new investors Center15 Capital, Magnetar, HOF Capital, and Industrious Ventures.

The funding will support increased spacecraft manufacturing capacity, with plans to scale production from eight vehicles per year to approximately 40, as well as expand reconnaissance capabilities across low Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary orbit (GEO). The company is also focused on advancing its Starfire operating system to enable more automated, multi-satellite mission planning and control.

Turion delivers an integrated platform combining spacecraft, sensors, and software, including its DROID satellite fleet and purpose-built payloads for reconnaissance and surveillance. Its technology is designed to provide real-time orbital intelligence for U.S. government, allied, and commercial customers.

Since its founding in 2021, the company has completed two successful missions and delivered more than 40,000 images. It has also secured 28 U.S. government contracts and is engaged in programs with agencies including NASA, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, and the National Reconnaissance Office.

The company’s pipeline reflects growing demand for capabilities such as space domain awareness, missile tracking, orbital resilience, and remote sensing, as governments and organizations prioritize visibility and security in space operations.

KEY QUOTES:

“This capital accelerates the fleet, expands reconnaissance coverage for Space Domain Awareness, and scales Starfire from constellation command to theater-scale operations. We’re building a dependable, sovereign-grade infrastructure layer that strengthens deterrence today — and lays the groundwork for responsible in-space resource utilization tomorrow — securing enduring space superiority for U.S. and Allies.”

Ryan Westerdahl, Co-Founder And Chief Executive Officer, Turion Space

“The U.S. cannot secure what it cannot see — and today, our visibility in orbit remains constrained by legacy systems. Turion is solving that with a fundamentally different approach: purpose-built satellites integrated with software to deliver real-time intelligence where speed and clarity matter most. They’re building the operational backbone for space domain awareness. We’re proud to double down on our investment in Turion and lead this round.”
