Tweet Garot Mechanical, a Wisconsin-based mechanical contractor, has acquired Prime Specialty Contracting, expanding its footprint into Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and strengthening its regional presence across the state.
Prime Specialty Contracting is a full-service provider of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and custom metal fabrication services, with offices in Marquette and Escanaba, Michigan. The company operates across three divisions, mechanical contracting, plumbing heating and cooling, and welding and fabrication, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout the Upper Peninsula.
With the acquisition, Tweet Garot positions itself as a leading mechanical contractor in the region while integrating Prime’s established local operations. Both of Prime’s locations will remain open and fully operational following the deal, and founder Cory Bushong will continue to lead the business and its approximately 90 employees.
The companies emphasized alignment in culture, workforce development, and customer relationships as key drivers behind the transaction. The deal also enables expanded access to resources, technology, and scale for Prime, while enhancing Tweet Garot’s capabilities and reach in the Upper Peninsula market.
The acquisition was completed in February 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
KEY QUOTES
“I’ve known Prime’s founder Cory Bushong for many years, and I’ve watched him build something truly unique. In just six years, Cory and his team have built a business and a culture that stand out in this industry. We didn’t pursue Prime because of geography alone — we pursued them because of the people, the reputation, and the values they’ve established. Together, we believe we can create the dominant destination for both employees and customers in Upper Michigan.”
Christopher Howald, Chairman and CEO, Tweet Garot Mechanical
“When I started Prime in 2019, the goal was always to build something our team and community could be proud of. Partnering with Tweet Garot gives us the resources, technology, and scale to take that vision even further — without changing what makes us who we are. I’m excited for what this means for our employees, our customers, and the Upper Peninsula.”
Cory Bushong, Founder, Prime Specialty Contracting
“The synergies between our organizations are natural. We share the same commitment to culture, employee development, and customer relationships. With Prime’s deep roots in the UP and Tweet Garot’s resources and technology platform, we’re positioned to offer something no one else in the region can match.”
