TYBR Health Raises $30 Million Series A To Expand B3 GEL System

TYBR Health has raised $30 million in Series A financing to expand commercial access to its B3 GEL System, pursue additional product indications and conduct clinical studies involving tissue protection following orthopedic surgery.

Vensana Capital and Mutual Capital Partners co-led the round. Neovate Capital Partners and existing investors also participated.

TYBR Health develops technology intended to support the biological healing environment after surgeons repair damaged anatomical structures. The company is initially focused on tendons, ligaments, muscles and surrounding soft tissues.

The B3 GEL System is an FDA-cleared, flowable extracellular matrix hydrogel applied during orthopedic procedures. It is designed to conform to complex three-dimensional anatomy and form a protective barrier around tissue during recovery.

Extracellular matrix materials are derived from the structural components that surround and support cells in biological tissues. TYBR designed its hydrogel to integrate into existing surgical workflows without requiring surgeons to position a solid sheet around irregular anatomy.

The product has been used in hand, wrist, shoulder, foot, ankle and sports medicine procedures. TYBR said early adoption has come from surgeons seeking a straightforward method for protecting healing tissue without materially increasing procedure time or complexity.

The company plans to use part of the financing to broaden access to the system among surgeons and healthcare facilities. It will also generate additional clinical evidence evaluating its use during orthopedic recovery.

While TYBR describes the product as supporting improved healing conditions, patient outcomes can vary based on the procedure, injury, surgical technique, rehabilitation and individual health factors. The planned studies are intended to provide more evidence regarding the system’s potential clinical benefits.

The financing will also support the development of additional indications for TYBR’s extracellular matrix platform. Expanding an FDA-cleared product into new uses may require additional research, regulatory submissions or authorizations depending on the proposed indication.

As part of the investment, Vensana Capital Partner Greg Banker and Mutual Capital Partners Principal Liz Todia Zambory will join TYBR Health’s Board of Directors. They will serve alongside independent director Aaron Smith.

TYBR Health is headquartered in Houston and is developing products intended to improve healing and recovery after surgery.

KEY QUOTES:

“Surgeons are exceptionally good at the structural repair, but the biology that follows is what determines how it heals. That part of the equation has gone largely unaddressed.”

“We built TYBR Health around a simple principle: managing the healing environment should complement good surgical technique and contribute to better recovery for patients.”

“There’s a shift underway across surgical specialties, from focusing almost entirely on the mechanical repair to also weighing the biological conditions that repair needs to succeed. This financing lets us reach more surgeons and generate the clinical evidence to move that shift forward.”

Tim Keane, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO of TYBR Health

“B3 GEL adheres where it’s applied, conforms to the native anatomy, and forms a protective barrier through the healing window.”

“TYBR has shown real commercial traction early and built a strong team, and we’re glad to back them in this next phase.”

Greg Banker, Partner at Vensana Capital

“TYBR Health is addressing a gap surgeons have lived with for a long time, with a product that fits the way they already work.”

“We’re excited to co-lead this round and support the company’s growth.”
