Tyler Technologies announced it has completed its previously disclosed acquisition of For The Record, a pioneer in digital court recording with more than 30 years of experience. The transaction was completed for approximately $212.5 million in cash.

For The Record provides SaaS-based solutions designed to deliver secure, accurate, and sophisticated digital recordings for courtrooms. By integrating these capabilities into Tyler’s Courts & Justice portfolio, customers will be able to build a more seamless courtroom ecosystem, improving efficiency for judges, clerks, and attorneys.

The acquisition enhances Tyler’s ability to innovate within the justice system by incorporating advanced AI-powered technologies. For The Record brings “legal grade” speech-to-text capabilities and real-time multilingual transcription, supported by proprietary cloud-based software tailored to the complexities of modern court environments. These capabilities, combined with digital distribution and integration with case management systems, are expected to enable near real-time transcript access.

The combined offering aims to modernize court operations by reducing case backlogs, improving access to justice, and supporting broader digital transformation initiatives across jurisdictions.

For The Record’s leadership team and employees will remain in place and continue operations from Phoenix, Arizona; Boston, Massachusetts; and Brisbane, Australia. Tyler Technologies is working with the company on a structured integration plan to ensure alignment across the combined organization.

Support: Advisors on the transaction included Munck Wilson Mandala LLP as transaction counsel and Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP as HSR counsel to Tyler Technologies. Piper Sandler & Co. served as exclusive financial advisor to For The Record, with Cooley LLP acting as transaction and HSR counsel.
