Tyler Technologies has acquired CODY Systems, adding cloud-based records management and information-sharing products to its public safety technology portfolio. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CODY provides software, data management, integration and information exchange tools to law enforcement agencies and other public-sector organizations.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Tyler’s position among small and midsized public safety agencies and support faster software implementations, improved interoperability and broader access to real-time data.
CODY’s products include Pathfinder RMS, a cloud-native records management platform used to organize and manage law enforcement data.
The company also offers COBRAnet, a platform that supports information sharing among individual agencies and across regional or statewide networks.
Tyler expects to integrate the systems into its broader public safety technology ecosystem, helping agencies coordinate responses and make faster decisions during emergencies.
Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, CODY serves more than 300 customers across 10 states.
Its customers range from individual police departments using records management software to statewide organizations deploying data integration platforms.
CODY’s management and employees will join Tyler as part of the acquisition.
Tyler provides public-sector software through more than 50,000 installations at 16,000 client locations across the U.S. and several international markets.
