Tyler Technologies Expands Justice Portfolio With Acquisition Of CloudGavel

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 20, 2025

Tyler Technologies has acquired CloudGavel, an electronic warrant solutions provider that enhances real-time connectivity between courts and law enforcement agencies. The deal strengthens Tyler’s presence across the courts, justice, and public safety sectors as the company continues to invest in technology that improves the efficiency and transparency of judicial processes.

Based in Baton Rouge and founded by CEO Pratyush Kumar, CloudGavel will integrate into Tyler’s Courts and Justice Division. Tyler said the acquisition supports its long-term mission of improving public-sector operations and enabling agencies to build safer, more data-driven communities.

CloudGavel’s platform enables courts and law enforcement officers to access eWarrant submissions and reviews from anywhere on any internet-connected device. Real-time data flow allows warrants to be issued, approved, served, tracked, and returned electronically, reducing delays and eliminating travel to courthouses. Officers can secure warrant approval within minutes at incident scenes, while agencies benefit from better visibility into warrant status updates that help protect field personnel.

The acquisition builds on a partnership formed in 2023, during which the two companies collaborated to modernize electronic warrant management for shared clients using cloud-native technology. Tyler said bringing CloudGavel fully into its portfolio will accelerate innovation and amplify the value delivered to courts and public safety organizations nationwide.

Tyler Technologies serves more than 15,000 locations with more than 45,000 installations globally and has consistently been recognized for its growth and innovation, including multiple placements on the GovTech 100 list.
