U.S. Bank announced a multi-year partnership with the National Football League, naming the bank as an official bank and wealth management sponsor of the league, expanding a relationship that spans more than 20 years.
The agreement strengthens U.S. Bank’s presence across the NFL ecosystem, including becoming the presenting sponsor of the Super Bowl MVP Award starting with Super Bowl LXI and a top-tier sponsor of the NFL FLAG Championships. The partnership reflects a shared focus on financial stability, innovation, and long-term community impact.
As part of the collaboration, U.S. Bank will support the NFL’s efforts to enhance player financial empowerment through its Financial Edge program. The initiative is designed to provide tailored financial guidance for athletes at every stage of their careers, covering areas such as cash flow management, long-term wealth building, charitable planning and preparation for life after football.
The program will be integrated into the NFL’s broader financial empowerment pilot, addressing the growing need for financial literacy and planning among professional athletes. Fernando Mendoza, a prospective 2026 NFL draft pick with experience navigating NIL opportunities, will contribute insights to help shape the program’s curriculum and ensure it aligns with the unique financial realities athletes face.
Beyond player-focused initiatives, the partnership will also include a co-developed corporate social responsibility program aimed at community engagement, with additional details expected to be announced in the coming months.
U.S. Bank highlighted its long-standing involvement in sports finance, including relationships with more than 35 professional teams and participation in major stadium financing projects, reinforcing its strategic focus on the sports sector.
