U.S. Dermatology Partners Expands Footprint With Acquisition Of Helms Dermatology In Arkansas

U.S. Dermatology Partners has expanded its national presence through the acquisition of Helms Dermatology, marking the organization’s first entry into Arkansas and bringing its total footprint to nine states. The deal reflects the continued growth momentum of the Dallas-based dermatology group, which Castle Connolly recently recognized as the number one dermatology group in the United States.

The acquisition includes Helms Dermatology’s locations in Russellville and Clarksville. Through this partnership, Helms Dermatology will gain access to U.S. Dermatology Partners’ comprehensive operational infrastructure, including managed care, marketing, compliance, clinical research, recruiting, human resources, and technology resources. These services are designed to streamline non-clinical responsibilities, enabling medical teams to devote their full attention to patient care while supporting long-term practice stability.

The expansion into Arkansas represents a significant milestone for the organization and highlights the continued progress of the U.S. Dermatology Partners Outreach Program. Over the past four years, the group has added 50 new locations, expanding both its geographic footprint and access to specialized dermatologic care in communities nationwide.

Helms Dermatology was founded in 1998 by Dr. William J. Helms, a Russellville native and longtime provider of comprehensive skin care services throughout the region. Dr. Helms leads a clinical team that includes Karen Branch, DNP, APRN, and Jonna Webb, PA-C. Dr. Helms earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, completed an Internal Medicine residency, and later a Dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

U.S. Dermatology Partners reiterated that the acquisition not only strengthens its presence in the South but also reflects its commitment to bringing high-quality dermatologic care to both metropolitan and underserved rural communities. With more than 120 locations and over 2 million patients cared for annually, the organization has continued to scale its clinical capabilities while maintaining personalized patient care across its network.
