UBEES, a company that applies professional beekeeping and connected-hive technology to regenerative agriculture, has raised a €8 million Series A round to fund its next phase of growth. The financing was co-led by Starquest and Capagro, with participation from Newtree Impact.
Founded in 2017, UBEES builds pollination programs by analyzing pollinators and the ecosystems around farms, then pairing that insight with agronomic data and in-field support. The company positions pollination as an operational management lever that can be measured and improved, rather than a passive dependency within food production. UBEES says it is now active in more than 15 countries across five continents and works with large global brands in agri-food, cosmetics, and energy, citing customers such as Nespresso, Nestlé, and Starbucks.
The company’s approach centers on connected hives equipped with sensors and analytical tools to monitor pollinator activity and environmental conditions. UBEES uses the resulting datasets to generate recommendations to optimize farming practices and to track outcomes such as productivity, crop quality, biodiversity indicators, and carbon footprint. Alongside the technology, the company emphasizes end-to-end program delivery, from design through implementation, tailored to local contexts.
UBEES said the Series A proceeds will be used to expand further in Latin America and Africa, with a focus on regions tied to coffee, red fruit, avocado, cocoa, and other pollination-dependent value chains, while consolidating its presence in Europe and the United States. The company also plans to continue improving embedded technology in its connected hives, strengthen monitoring and data quality, and build out an impact division to measure agronomic, environmental, and economic outcomes with greater precision. Another priority is scaling a global community model that trains and supports farmers, providing additional income through beekeeping while enabling access to agronomic data.
KEY QUOTES
“This fundraising marks a turning point. Every day, we prove that pollination can become a measurable, profitable, and scalable agronomic lever. Thanks to the support of our investors, we will accelerate the transition to more productive, more resilient agricultural systems while promoting biodiversity.”
Louis Delelis-Fanien, Chief Executive Officer, UBEES
“By combining in-depth expertise in pollination with an innovative model involving both brands and farmers, Ubees has created a virtuous circle, generating measurable environmental and economic benefits. Increased agricultural yields and additional income from honey production strengthen the resilience of farms and support the entire value chain, while accelerating the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices. We are proud to support Ubees as they enter their next phase of growth.”
Quentin Simon, Investment Director, Starquest
“Making a positive impact on a global scale is one of the biggest challenges facing AgTech. UBEES has already demonstrated its ability to meet this challenge, operating in North and South America, Africa, and Europe, while adapting to local agronomic, social, and environmental realities. We were particularly impressed by the team’s ability to replicate a consistent beekeeping model internationally, combining the commitment of local farmers with partnerships with global agri-food brands.”
Maxime Walter, Investment Director, Capagro
“By combining scalable beekeeping infrastructure with cutting-edge monitoring technologies, Ubees has created an innovative platform that reconciles biodiversity, agricultural performance, and ecosystem resilience. We are proud to support a high-quality team and are confident in its potential to become a leader in pollination services.”
