UiPath announced it has acquired WorkFusion, adding a specialized suite of AI agents designed for financial crime compliance to its broader agentic automation and orchestration platform as it targets deeper penetration in banking and financial services.
The deal brings WorkFusion’s prebuilt library of AI agents into UiPath’s portfolio of industry solutions, with a focus on operationally intensive compliance functions such as anti-money laundering and know-your-customer workflows. UiPath framed the acquisition as a way for financial institutions to automate end-to-end compliance processes, including customer screening, alert review, investigations, and case prioritization, while preserving the governance and regulatory controls that banks require.
WorkFusion’s technology is designed to augment Level 1 analysts’ work in AML, sanctions screening, adverse media monitoring, KYC, and transaction monitoring investigations. UiPath said combining those purpose-built compliance agents with its platform will help institutions orchestrate intricate workflows, identify complex patterns, and route higher-risk cases to human reviewers, with the aim of improving effectiveness while reducing operational burden.
UiPath said the transaction closed during its first quarter of fiscal 2027. Financial terms were not disclosed.
