Unify Energy Solutions has secured a dedicated acquisition capital commitment to support strategic growth across the building automation, energy management and Internet of Things monitoring markets. Westlake Securities served as the company’s exclusive financial advisor in arranging the commitment. The amount and identity of the capital provider were not disclosed.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Houston, Unify designs and manages systems that help commercial and institutional customers monitor building performance, reduce energy costs and modernize facility operations. The company has automated more than 150 million square feet of space across healthcare, education, financial services and other mission-critical environments.
Unify employs more than 140 people across Texas and Colorado and operates as an authorized Reliable Controls equipment integrator. Its systems can connect heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and other building infrastructure with centralized software and IoT-based monitoring.
The capital commitment will give Unify the ability to pursue acquisitions that expand its geographic reach, technical capabilities or customer base. The company intends to preserve the operating model and customer focus that supported its organic growth while adding complementary businesses in smart energy and building automation.
Westlake Securities has advised on more than $6.7 billion of mergers, acquisitions, capital placements and growth transactions since its founding in 2003.
