UPS has announced a series of executive leadership changes and a new global operating model, effective September 1, 2026, as the company shifts its focus toward accelerating profitable growth and more closely integrating its worldwide logistics network.
The changes follow the retirement of Kate Gutmann, Executive Vice President and President of International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions, after nearly 37 years with UPS.
Gutmann will leave her current role September 1 for personal family reasons but will remain a strategic advisor to UPS through March 2027.
During her career, Gutmann played a significant role in developing UPS’s healthcare logistics business and managing the company’s international operations through major changes in U.S. trade policy.
UPS said the three businesses under her leadership delivered industry-leading operating margins.
She will be succeeded by Wilfredo Ramos, who has been named Executive Vice President and Chief International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions Officer.
Ramos currently leads UPS’s Asia Pacific and Brokerage businesses and has spent more than 20 years with the company across multiple regions and operating units.
The leadership changes coincide with a broader restructuring of UPS’s operating model.
Following completion of its Amazon volume glide-down and network reconfiguration initiatives in June 2026, UPS said it is moving from operating as an international company toward becoming a more integrated global enterprise.
The new model is designed to standardize critical operating processes across geographic markets while retaining enough local flexibility to respond to customer and market requirements.
UPS said the structure should improve efficiency, consistency, agility and scale while supporting its continued evolution from a small-package carrier into a broader provider of integrated logistics solutions.
As part of the changes, Nando Cesarone has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Global Operations Officer.
Cesarone will oversee UPS’s global air network and gateways, surface transportation, building and engineering operations, Intelligent Network of the Future initiatives, automotive operations and sustainability functions.
Matt Guffey has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief U.S. Domestic Officer, with responsibility for U.S. businesses including Small Package, Roadie, Happy Returns, The UPS Stores and Mail Innovations.
UPS is also creating a new Executive Vice President and Chief Global Commercial Strategy Officer position responsible for global strategy, marketing and communications, product management and pricing. The company is conducting a search for an executive to fill the role.
Effective September 1, UPS’s executive leadership team reporting directly to CEO Carol Tomé will include Norm Brothers as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, Nando Cesarone as Chief Global Operations Officer, Brian Dykes as CFO, Darrell Ford as Chief Human Resources Officer, Matt Guffey as Chief U.S. Domestic Officer, Wilfredo Ramos as Chief International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions Officer, Bala Subramanian as Chief Digital and Technology Officer and the future Chief Global Commercial Strategy Officer.
UPS generated $88.7 billion in revenue in 2025, employs approximately 460,000 people and serves customers in more than 200 countries and territories.
