UpSmith has raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform for home services contractors, including electricians, plumbers and heating, ventilation and air conditioning businesses. SemperVirens led the financing, with participation from existing and new investors including Hannah Grey Ventures, Asymmetric Capital Partners, CIV, Synetro Group, WaterStone Impact Fund anchored by Tim Tebow, Colin M. Evans at Sandwith Ventures, Deason Capital Services and OpenGov co-founder Zachary Bookman.
Evans previously served as head of startups and venture partnerships at OpenAI.
As part of the financing, Allison Baum Gates, General Partner at SemperVirens, and Rob Biederman, Managing Partner at Asymmetric Capital Partners, will join UpSmith’s Board of Directors.
UpSmith plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team and increase distribution throughout the home services industry, which is currently the company’s initial focus market.
The Dallas-based company describes its platform as an “AI profit engine” for trades businesses.
Rather than focusing solely on automating administrative tasks, UpSmith’s AI agents are designed to identify potential revenue opportunities within a contractor’s existing customer and operational data and then take action on those opportunities.
Home services companies can accumulate large numbers of open estimates, unanswered or missed calls, overdue maintenance requirements, expiring memberships and inactive customers.
Following up with every potential customer or existing account can require more staff and time than many businesses have available.
UpSmith’s platform analyzes those opportunities and uses agentic workflows to contact customers, book appointments, follow up on estimates, confirm visits, convert sales and generate recurring work through membership and remarketing programs.
The company said its technology has already helped contractors book thousands of jobs and recover millions of dollars in revenue.
Alongside the Series A, UpSmith is introducing an AI voice agent designed to handle inbound customer calls.
It is also launching a unified customer timeline that consolidates customer interactions and job activity into a single record.
The new capabilities are intended to extend UpSmith’s AI agents across a larger portion of the customer lifecycle and provide the system with more context when engaging with consumers.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Dallas, UpSmith currently serves more than 200 home services operators across the U.S.
The company is also a certified ServiceTitan ecosystem partner.
UpSmith highlighted several customer deployments to demonstrate the financial and operational impact of its technology.
At HomeTown Services, a Texas-based multi-trade home services company operating across five states, UpSmith supported more than 5,000 completed jobs from recovered unsold estimates during 2026.
The deployment helped the company’s HVAC, plumbing and electrical brands reconnect with potential customers associated with opportunities that otherwise might have gone inactive.
Ohio-based Five Star Home Services reported a 34% reduction in cancellations after deploying UpSmith.
Medley AC in Texas generated $147,000 in new revenue within three months while reducing cancellations by 25%.
These results reflect UpSmith’s broader strategy of helping contractors generate more revenue from customer relationships and demand already present within their businesses.
The company’s technology analyzes operational data and uses autonomous workflows to follow up with customers when potential opportunities are detected.
Its tools can answer inbound calls, respond to time-sensitive leads, book appointments, confirm scheduled visits, follow up on estimates and support customer remarketing.
UpSmith is positioning the platform around the broader adoption of AI throughout the economy while specifically targeting businesses that perform physical work.
The company believes tradespeople should directly benefit from advances in AI and the infrastructure supporting those technologies.
The Series A follows continued support from Asymmetric Capital Partners, which provided UpSmith’s first institutional financing in 2022 and has participated in every financing round since.
With the latest capital, UpSmith plans to deepen its technology capabilities while bringing the platform to more home services operators.
The addition of voice capabilities and a unified customer history is expected to increase the number of situations in which UpSmith’s agents can identify and pursue revenue opportunities on behalf of contractors.
KEY QUOTES:
“We believe AI should power the people who power America. The skilled trades are the backbone of this country, and we’re building technology that solves real problems for contractors, delivers measurable results and helps their businesses grow. This funding allows us to put more powerful tools in the hands of the people who keep America running.”
Wyatt Smith, Founder and CEO of UpSmith
“We’ve built a reputation over decades across our brands, and a customer base to match it, but there are only so many hours in the day to act on either. The database was always the asset – we just couldn’t work it fast enough on our own. UpSmith helped us go back through that history and turn thousands of opportunities that were sitting untapped into real, booked work for our techs, instead of leaving them on the table.”
Ray Pickens, COO at HomeTown Services
“The skilled trades are the backbone of the American economy, yet the technology built for these businesses has historically lagged behind the critical role they play. UpSmith is delivering measurable results for contractors across the country, and its growth over the past several months shows the demand for technology that can help these businesses operate and grow.”
Allison Baum Gates, General Partner at SemperVirens and UpSmith Board Member
“We wrote UpSmith’s first institutional check because Wyatt and his team are from the heart of America and understand the operational problems contractors deal with every day. That understanding has stayed close to the product as the company has grown. Contractors can see the impact in jobs booked, cancellations prevented and revenue recovered.”
Rob Biederman, Managing Partner at Asymmetric Capital Partners
