Ushio announced that it has completed the acquisition of the OSRAM Entertainment and Industry (ENI) business, marking a strategic expansion of its presence in the global specialty lighting market. Effective March 2, 2026, the acquired operations are now integrated into the Ushio Group and will operate under the name Ushio INE GmbH, representing Ushio Industry & Entertainment.
The transaction combines Ushio’s technology portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, and global resources with the longstanding expertise and customer relationships of the former OSRAM Entertainment and Industry organization. The integration is designed to strengthen Ushio’s position across several sectors including cinema projection, professional stage lighting, entertainment production, and industrial lighting applications.
According to the company, the acquisition will expand Ushio’s capabilities in delivering high-performance lighting solutions while reinforcing its role as a global supplier to the entertainment, cinema, and industrial sectors. By combining complementary strengths, Ushio aims to accelerate innovation and broaden its offerings for professional customers worldwide.
Customers will continue working with their existing commercial and technical contacts, and the current product portfolio and services will remain available. Ushio said the integration process has been designed to ensure continuity for customers and partners, including uninterrupted supply and operational support during the transition.
The newly formed Ushio Industry & Entertainment division will focus on delivering specialized lighting technologies, application expertise, and long-term customer partnerships across global markets. The company said additional updates about the division and its future developments will be shared in the coming months.
Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Tokyo, Ushio manufactures lamps, lasers, LEDs, and other light sources across ultraviolet, visible, and infrared wavelengths. The company also develops optical and imaging equipment that incorporates these technologies. Ushio products are widely used in industrial manufacturing processes such as semiconductor fabrication, flat panel display production, and electronics manufacturing, as well as in visual imaging applications including digital projectors and illumination systems. In recent years, the company has expanded into life sciences, including medical and environmental applications.
