Uzum, Uzbekistan’s leading digital ecosystem, has secured a strategic investment of over $130 million in a funding round led by sovereign entities from the Sultanate of Oman, marking a significant milestone as the company prepares for its upcoming Series B round.

The deal combines primary equity and structured capital and establishes a $2.3 billion pre-money valuation reference point for the company. Conversion terms for the investment are tied to Uzum’s next qualified financing round. The latest investment represents a meaningful step up from Uzum’s earlier funding rounds and signals growing international confidence in both the company and Uzbekistan’s rapidly developing digital economy.

Existing international shareholders, including VR Capital, Tencent, and FinSight Ventures, also participated in the round, reinforcing continued backing from global investors as Uzum expands its integrated technology platform.

Uzum plans to use the new capital to accelerate growth across its core business areas, which include e-commerce, digital banking, payments, and consumer lending. The company intends to deepen its product offerings, strengthen its infrastructure, and expand access to digital services throughout Uzbekistan.

The company has built a national-scale digital ecosystem that combines commerce and fintech platforms. Its services include Uzum Market, Uzum Tezkor, Uzum Bank, and Uzum Nasiya. Together, these platforms are used by more than 20 million people, representing over half of Uzbekistan’s population.

The partnership with the Omani sovereign entities reflects increasing international interest in Uzbekistan as an emerging technology and digital services market. Uzum said the investment will support its mission to build technology infrastructure designed for everyday use by individuals and businesses across the country.

Support: Uzum was advised on the transaction by DLA Piper, while the investors were advised by Greenberg Traurig.
