Rangoni Shoes has been making footwear of impeccable quality since the 1930s. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Valentina Ragoni (a spinoff of Rangoni Shoes) lead designer Valentina Ragoni about her namesake brand to learn more about the company.

Valentina Ragoni’s Background

What is Valentina Ragoni’s background? Ragoni said:

“I am the third-generation of a shoemaker family. Our story in the shoes business started in 1934 with my grandfather Ugo Rangoni. In 1990, I was born in Italy, and I still live here in Firenze, where our shoe factory is. I have a degree in economics and a diploma in shoe design. I also have a degree in “Canto Lirico” because I studied in the conservatory for six years, and opera is a passion that I have.”

Formation Of Valentina Ragoni

How did the idea for Valentina Ragoni come together? Rangoni shared:

“It was very natural because when I was a kid, I used to visit my father to our shoe factory where we produced Amalfi by Rangoni shoes since 1934. I also always loved fashion and I am a very creative person so the idea of giving life to my designs was very exciting. This is why Valentina Rangoni was born.

Favorite Memory

What has been Rangoni’s favorite memory working for the company so far? Rangoni reflected:

“When my sister Carolina and I opened our first flagship store in Firenze in 2020.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Rangoni explained:

The key of the Rangoni products is that shoes must have two characteristics: be beautifully made and be comfortable. And I try to keep these features also in Valentina Rangoni shoes with a fashion twist and the main purpose to be the shoe that makes a girl feel beautiful, but for herself not for the others.”

Challenges Faced

What challenges have Rangoni and the team faced in building the company? Rangoni acknowledged:

“Yes for sure, in the fashion industry everything is congested right now, the production chain almost stopped right now , especially in shoe sector. Big and small retailer stores are not making others right now due to their big amount of products they still have from the past seasons. So we are facing very tough times.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future company goals? Rangoni concluded:

“My dream goal is to finally be able to see my shoes in the most famous department store, as Saks or Bergdorf,  or Neiman Marcus.”
