Vance Street Capital has appointed Katherine “Kate” Dowley as Head of Investor Relations as the middle-market private equity firm continues expanding its institutional capabilities following more than $2 billion of total capital raised.
Dowley will lead Vance Street’s investor relations organization, overseeing capital formation, investor communications and relationship management across existing and prospective limited partners.
She will work closely with the firm’s leadership and investment professionals as Vance Street seeks to deepen institutional investor relationships and support continued growth of its investment platform.
Dowley joins Vance Street from W Capital Partners. She previously worked at L Catterton and Lindsay Goldberg, giving her experience across multiple private equity organizations and investor bases. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.
The appointment comes after Vance Street closed Vance Street Capital IV at its $775 million hard cap in 2024. That fundraise brought total capital raised by the firm to more than $2 billion.
Vance Street focuses primarily on founder-owned businesses, family businesses and corporate carve-outs that provide highly engineered and mission-critical products or services.
Its core sectors include industrial technology, medical and life sciences, and aerospace and defense. The firm works with portfolio-company management teams and owners to accelerate revenue growth, improve operations and execute strategic acquisitions.
Adding a dedicated senior investor-relations leader can become increasingly important as a private equity platform scales. Fundraising, limited-partner communications, portfolio reporting and long-term institutional relationships all become more complex as assets, strategies and successive fund vintages expand.
For Vance Street, Dowley’s role is intended to strengthen those functions while maintaining the relationship-focused approach the firm says it has built with investors.
