VanEck Launches WARP ETF Focused On Commercial Space Economy Companies

By Amit Chowdhry ● Today at 11:16 PM

VanEck announced the launch of the VanEck Space ETF under the ticker symbol WARP, providing investors with targeted exposure to companies involved in the commercialization of the global space economy.

The ETF is designed to track the MarketVector Space Index, which focuses on companies generating at least 50% of revenue from space-related activities including satellite communications, launch systems, propulsion technologies, Earth observation, GPS systems, and space infrastructure.

VanEck said the global space economy currently exceeds $600 billion and is expected to triple by 2035 as commercialization accelerates across launch systems, satellite infrastructure, AI-powered Earth observation, and defense-related space technologies.

According to the company, declining launch costs driven by reusable rocket technologies and increasing demand for satellite-based broadband connectivity are reshaping the economics of the sector.

VanEck also cited growing government investment in space as a strategic defense domain and expanding AI applications in space-enabled data analytics as additional long-term growth drivers.

The WARP ETF uses a modified float-adjusted market capitalization weighting methodology, includes single-security caps, and is rebalanced quarterly.

The launch expands VanEck’s broader thematic ETF lineup focused on long-term technology and innovation trends, including semiconductor, robotics, AI, biotech, and healthcare-focused investment strategies.

VanEck currently manages approximately $199.1 billion in assets across mutual funds, ETFs, and institutional accounts as of March 31, 2026.
