Vanta, a leading AI-driven trust management platform, announced that it has secured $150 million in Series D funding, valuing the company at $4.15 billion. Wellington Management led this round, which also included contributions from existing investors such as Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Sequoia, J.P. Morgan, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Atlassian Ventures, and CrowdStrike Ventures. The total funds raised by Vanta now amount to $504 million.

Founded in 2018, Vanta initially aimed to streamline SOC 2 compliance for startups, enabling them to achieve quicker go-to-market and revenue growth. And it’s a comprehensive AI trust management platform used by companies ranging from seed-stage startups to Fortune 50 companies for continuous risk management, compliance, and trust demonstration.

The platform now offers zero-touch verification across various security and compliance controls, featuring built-in tools for vendor risk assessment, access reviews, and risk management, as well as Trust Centers that provide real-time transparency to clients and partners. This shift highlights Vanta’s goal of transforming security checks from static, point-in-time assessments to ongoing, automated verification, providing teams with daily confidence in their security posture.

Vanta’s recent launch of the AI Agent integrates across the platform to assist teams with workflows, identify inconsistencies, answer policy questions, and automate evidence verification, saving some teams up to 12 hours weekly. Additionally, AI-based Questionnaire Automation generates over 80% of security questionnaire responses with a 95% acceptance rate, reducing security review times by half.

These innovations tackle the challenges faced by GRC and security teams, such as gathering evidence, managing disparate tools, and handling repetitive questionnaires, allowing them to focus on more impactful tasks.

Companies like Icelandair, Intercom, Mistral AI, Omni Hotels, and Salvation Army Australia, now utilize Vanta to build and demonstrate trust. Some notable benefits include:

  1. Duolingo saves 12 hours weekly and hundreds of thousands of dollars through AI-powered Vendor Risk Management (VRM)
  2. Snowflake accelerating manual customer due diligence with their Compliance Center, powered by Vanta
  3. Atlassian is enabling over 400 partners to achieve compliance milestones and showcase trust via Trust Centers
  4. Ramp eliminating spreadsheets by integrating custom controls into continuous monitoring frameworks
  5. WRITER completing vendor reviews and access audits in under 20 minutes instead of hours

In the past year, Vanta has expanded its platform and global footprint significantly:

  1. Launching 350 new features, including the Vanta AI Agent and AI Assessments
  2. Acquiring Riskey for AI-driven, continuous vendor security reviews
  3. Introducing Vanta for Marketplaces to help ecosystem leaders like Atlassian and Snowflake manage trust among partners
  4. Rolling out Policy Builder to simplify creating and maintaining audit-ready policies
  5. Supporting various government compliance standards such as FedRAMP, CMMC, and NIST 800-53
