Vanta: Interview With CRO Stevie Case About The Automated Trust Management Platform

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jul 13, 2026

Vanta is an automated trust management platform that helps companies streamline security compliance (such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR), manage risk, and demonstrate security posture to customers. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Vanta Chief Revenue Officer Stevie Case to learn more.

Stevie Case’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background and your current primary responsibilities at Vanta? Case said:

“My career journey has been a little unconventional. I spent the early part of my professional life as the first female pro gamer, known as KillCreek. I transitioned out of gaming into product management and technical sales. Sales was never on my radar – and I wasn’t good at it in the beginning – but I decided to lean into my discomfort and slowly learned that every role is accessible if you’re willing to learn.”

“I held several roles, including Visa’s first-ever Digital Platform Evangelist and Layer’s Vice President of Sales and Growth. After my time at Layer, I spent over 5 years at Twilio working my way from enterprise sales all the way to the Vice President of Mid-Market Sales. Now at Vanta, I use my 20+ years of experience in the tech industry to lead our growth and customer acquisition strategy as the Chief Revenue Officer.”

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Case reflected:

“My favorite memory was my first sales kickoff in Austin, Texas three years ago. We picked Austin because we thought it would be warm, fun, and easy for the team to get together. Twenty-four hours before the event, a freak ice storm shut the city down and canceled flights. For a moment, it looked like less than half the team would make it to the kickoff we’d poured so much work into.”

“Against all odds, all but ten of our teammates made it to Austin. But the ice storm created some unforgettable bonding moments: every team dinner was canceled without warning, so I bonded with our customer success team over a basket of french fries (literally the only food we could get!) Christina, our CEO, took another group for gas-station tacos. None of it was what we planned, but the experience was transformative.”

“I’ll never forget standing on stage and looking out at the audience: all of us together, despite everything stacked against us. It was the first time I fully felt the strength of this team: the energy, the ambition, and the belief that we’re building something truly category-defining. That moment crystallized what makes Vanta special. We’re scrappy, we’re bold, and we genuinely root for each other. When things get tough, this team comes together and pushes forward. That’s who we are.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Case explained:

“Vanta delivers the leading AI-powered trust management platform built to free up security teams by automating compliance. It’s designed to help businesses reduce the time and cost it takes to achieve and maintain compliance with standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and GDPR. With Vanta’s automated solution, customers can continuously monitor key systems in real time, collect the necessary evidence for auditors, and identify gaps early, so teams can address them before they escalate. “

“Core features include:

  • Vanta AI Agent: The Vanta AI agent supercharges GRC teams by providing guidance and taking action, while ensuring that the human stays in control.
  • AI-Powered Questionnaire Automation: The platform uses the power of Vanta AI to analyze previous questionnaires and security documents to generate accurate responses and maintain a living knowledge base that updates as policies evolve.
  • AI-Powered Trust Centers: Vanta’s AI-powered Trust Centers cut down the manual tasks that bog down enterprise security and sales teams by unifying security program management and enhancing the security review process. Visitors of the Trust Center can ask questions through a conversational interface and Vanta AI will draw from existing resources in the Trust Center to provide answers.
  • AI-Enhanced Vendor Risk Management (VRM): With Vanta’s VRM solutions, customers can save the time it takes to perform vendor security reviews by customizing the questions used by Vanta AI to analyze security documents.”

Challenges Faced

Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Case acknowledged:

“One of the biggest challenges in our sector has been balancing the rapid pace of AI innovation with the deeply human nature of our work. Security and compliance are ultimately trust businesses. Customers don’t just buy software. They rely on us to help them demonstrate trust to their own customers and partners. That means every interaction matters, and preserving that human connection while driving efficiency has been a critical challenge.”

“We’ve addressed this by putting trust and people at the center of how we operate. Our philosophy is human-first, supported by AI, not the other way around. We’ve built AI directly into our workflows to remove hours of manual work, simplify complexity, and surface insights faster, but we never lose sight of the fact that relationships, discovery, and partnership are what drive our business forward.”

“What’s been especially powerful is how we empower our teams in this new era. At Vanta, everyone is expected to be a builder. We give our people agentic platforms and tools so they don’t just consume workflows, they create them. They’re closest to the work and closest to customers, which makes them our strongest authors of innovation.”

“By leaning into AI to unlock efficiency while keeping trust, human judgment, and creativity at the core, we’ve been able to navigate this period of rapid change with confidence. Our team hasn’t just adapted. They’ve helped shape what modern, trust-centered go-to-market work looks like.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Case cited:

“In July of this year, we accomplished a major milestone for Vanta as we announced our $150M Series D funding round, bringing Vanta’s valuation to $4.15B. Just a week before we announced our Series D news, we acquired Riskey – a pioneer in real-time third-party risk monitoring – as a step towards making trust management easier for our customers. We also launched 350+ features, including the Vanta AI Agent and AI assessments, reinforcing our dedication to AI-driven innovation. Vanta has scaled from helping startups achieve SOC 2 compliance to supporting 14K companies of all stages and sizes, including enterprises like Ramp and Duolingo, demonstrating trust. This is just the beginning for Vanta – we have big dreams and are determined to make our vision a reality.”
Customer Success Stories

Can you share any specific customer success stories? Case highlighted:

“Vanta works with some of the biggest enterprises to achieve meaningful outcomes through the Vanta Trust Platform. Some of those include:

  • Atlassian supports over 400 partners to demonstrate trust through achieving compliance milestones and Trust Centers
  • Snowflake cuts down the time for security teams and accelerates manual customer due diligence with their Vanta-powered Snowflake Compliance Center
  • Writer completes vendor reviews and accesses audits in less than 20 minutes, rather than several hours
  • Ramp maps custom controls into continuously monitored frameworks in order to eliminate spreadsheets

According to IDC, Vanta increases compliance team productivity by 129% and audit capacity by 142%, and drives 526% ROI through faster market entry, bigger deals, and increased trust.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Case affirmed:

“In 2018, Christina Capaccio, Vanta’s CEO, founded Vanta and essentially created the category of automated compliance. In the past, compliance wasn’t a priority for startups. Vanta helped startups achieve SOC 2, accelerating their path to market and revenue. Today, Vanta has evolved to a full-stack AI trust management platform that’s used by companies of all sizes, ranging from seed-stage to Fortune 50s. Vanta has the largest network of Trust Centers that deliver real-time visibility to customers and partners and is home to the industry-leading AI agent, helping some teams save up to 12 hours per week.”

“Vanta is rapidly growing its platform and global presence with a new office in London and over 1,000 Vanta’ns worldwide. While companies continue to lean out their sales teams, we are growing ours. In the last 100 days, we have hired 80-90 sales development representatives. At Vanta, we leverage the power of AI but ensure that human intervention is key to discovery-led selling.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Case concluded:

“In the near future, with the power of AI, Vanta will enable zero-touch security reviews through Questionnaire Automation, Trust Centers, and Vendor Risk Management, proactively providing buyers with the answers they need. Vanta will also help customers remediate issues using natural language and map contract commitments to controls, enabling security teams to easily explain their work to executives. We’re excited for the future and to continue helping customers save time, build and demonstrate trust more quickly, and bolster security posture.”
