VB Spine announced it has completed the acquisition of exclusive rights to the xvision Spine System from Augmedics, marking a strategic expansion into augmented reality-based surgical solutions.

The transaction positions VB Spine to further develop and commercialize the xvision platform, an augmented reality system designed to enhance precision in spine surgery. The company indicated it will immediately begin transitioning and operationalizing the business following the close.

The xvision Spine System is an FDA-cleared technology that enables surgeons to visualize anatomical structures in real time during open, minimally invasive, and percutaneous spine procedures. The platform has been used in nearly 13,000 procedures and is designed to improve accuracy in navigation and implant placement.

VB Spine and Augmedics are working together to ensure a seamless transition of the platform and associated operations. The acquisition reflects VB Spine’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio with advanced technologies that improve surgical outcomes and support clinicians.

VB Spine is a privately held spine-focused medical technology company with a global distribution network, delivering solutions aimed at addressing critical needs in spine surgery. Augmedics, the developer of the xvision system, will continue its focus on advancing augmented reality technologies across surgical applications.
