Vector Capital Management, a technology-focused investment firm based in San Francisco, has completed its acquisition of Showpad, a global leader in AI-driven revenue enablement technology. The deal combines Showpad with Vector’s portfolio company, Bigtincan, to form a unified organization operating under the Showpad brand. The combined company aims to create a comprehensive AI-native revenue effectiveness platform designed to support field-selling organizations worldwide.
As part of the transaction, Vector Capital has appointed veteran software executive Apratim Purakayastha as Chief Executive Officer of the newly combined business, effective immediately. Jim Hopkins, previously Chairman of Bigtincan, will remain as Chairman of the unified company. Former Showpad CEO Hendrik Isebaert will step down from his position but will continue to advise the organization. Insight Partners, a major investor in Showpad, rolled over its entire investment into the merged entity.
Apratim Purakayastha brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the software industry. Before joining Showpad, he was General Manager of Talent Development Solutions at Skillsoft, overseeing a $400 million enterprise subscription business and leading CodeAcademy’s consumer platform. He also previously held senior leadership roles as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technical Officer at Skillsoft, Chief Operating Officer at Sumtotal, and Group President at ACI Worldwide, after starting his career at IBM.
With Showpad and Bigtincan now united, the new platform will provide sales teams with AI-driven tools that combine advanced content management, sales readiness, and workflow automation to improve productivity and buyer engagement. The organization now serves over 2,000 customers in 50 countries.
