Vena, an AI-powered performance management platform built for the Microsoft ecosystem, announced that it has completed its acquisition of Acterys, a provider of operational planning and analytics solutions based on Microsoft Power BI. The deal is aimed at accelerating what Vena describes as “Orchestrated Planning,” a model designed to unify financial and operational planning, analytics, and execution within tools such as Excel and Power BI.
The acquisition strengthens Vena’s ability to connect finance and operations workflows while reducing what the company calls “decision latency,” the delay between identifying a business signal and taking action. By combining its planning platform with Acterys’ operational capabilities, Vena intends to help organizations respond more quickly to changing market conditions.
Vena’s platform is designed to work natively within Microsoft Excel, integrating with tools such as Power BI, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric, while also leveraging emerging AI capabilities, including large language model integrations. Acterys adds advanced operational planning, write-back functionality in Power BI, and application development capabilities, enabling organizations to build and manage data-driven planning applications within the Microsoft environment.
The combined platform will enable organizations to deploy planning solutions across finance, IT, and broader business teams, with tighter integration between decision-making in Excel and execution in Power BI. As part of the integration, Acterys CEO Mike Zack will continue to lead the business as General Manager, while CTO Hesam Ziaei will join Vena as VP of R&D to support a unified product roadmap.
The companies stated that both platforms will remain available through the Microsoft Marketplace as integration progresses.
