Vena announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Managility Pty Ltd, operating as Acterys, in a deal that the companies say will create a new Microsoft-native environment for “Orchestrated Planning.” The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.
The companies are positioning Orchestrated Planning as a step beyond integrated planning, aimed at harmonizing and automating planning and execution across people, processes, technologies, and data so decisions and actions align with strategic goals in real time. Vena said the combination is intended to help enterprises merge planning, analytics, and application development inside the Microsoft tools they already use to run their businesses.
Vena, which describes itself as an Excel-native FP&A platform powered by agentic AI and built to amplify the Microsoft ecosystem, said it will pair its financial planning and analysis capabilities with Acterys’ Power BI-based operational planning and app development platform. A core element of Acterys’ offering is its proprietary Power BI write-back engine and unified analytics within Microsoft Fabric, which Vena said will connect financial models with purpose-built operational applications.
The combined platform is designed to give Finance and IT a shared environment for functional and operational planning, scenario modeling, and execution at scale. Vena said Finance teams will use its Excel-native foundation supported by real-time data, while IT teams will use Acterys’ Power BI write-back and Fabric-based analytics to build and extend operational applications across the Microsoft stack.
Acterys serves more than 300 global organizations and is used by CIOs, IT leaders, and business innovators to build custom planning, analytics, and data applications within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Both companies said their platforms are available via the Microsoft Marketplace, which they say enables faster procurement and, with Vena, direct Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment decrements.
