Verda: $117 Million Raised To Scale AI Cloud Infrastructure Across Europe, The US, And Asia

Verda, a Helsinki-based AI cloud infrastructure company formerly known as DataCrunch, has raised $117 million in new funding to accelerate product development and expand internationally. The round comprises equity funding led by Lifeline Ventures with participation from byFounders, Tesi, and Varma, alongside debt financing from a group of Nordic financial institutions. The company plans to hire more than 100 new employees and launch in the UK, the United States, and Asia this year.

Founded in 2020 by Ruben Bryon and rebranded from DataCrunch to Verda in November 2025, the company builds AI cloud infrastructure that gives developers and organizations access to high-performance compute on demand and at scale, without the friction of traditional cloud procurement. Verda is vertically integrated, managing everything from physical servers and data centers to networking and AI developer tools, a model it says distinguishes it from competitors that simply resell rented GPU capacity.

The company’s data centers are located in Finland and Iceland and run entirely on renewable energy using natural cooling, which lowers operating costs and gives Verda a cost and sustainability edge over competitors in warmer locations. Verda is also one of a select group of NVIDIA Preferred Partners globally, giving it priority access to the latest GPU hardware at a time when compute remains scarce for enterprise AI teams. Customers include Nokia, 1X, ExpressVPN, and Freepik.

Verda’s operations are already cash-flow positive, with its annualized revenue run rate doubling to over $60 million in the first quarter of 2026. The company has raised approximately $170 million in total since its founding, with a $13 million seed round followed by a $64 million Series A in January 2026. The new round, which nearly doubles total capital raised in a single step, will fund expansion into new markets, with plans to open offices in California and Asia and expand data center construction in Sweden. Verda says it intends to remain a European company and position its geographic neutrality as a global differentiator against US-centric providers.

KEY QUOTES:

“We’re building the next generation of AI cloud infrastructure for pioneering teams across the globe. This funding allows us to double down on development and accelerate our expansion across Europe, the US and Asia. We’re seeing very strong momentum, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.”

“A big part of our success comes from being vertically integrated, handling everything from physical infrastructure to the application layer. We have a dedicated AI Lab team that works directly with customers and uses those insights to drive our product decisions. We’re proud of what we’ve built so far, but we know we’re only just getting started.”
