Verda has appointed Mikko Einiö as Chief Financial Officer as the European AI cloud provider expands its infrastructure platform across Europe, the United States and Asia.
Einiö will lead Verda’s global finance organization, including financial planning, capital raising and capital allocation. He will be responsible for developing the financial infrastructure needed to support the company’s international expansion and growing investments in AI compute capacity.
The appointment follows a period of rapid growth for Verda. The company reached an annualized revenue run rate of approximately $120 million in June 2026, representing a tenfold increase over the preceding 18 months.
Verda said it is expanding its physical infrastructure and operations in response to rising demand for high-performance computing from companies developing and deploying artificial intelligence models.
Einiö brings more than 20 years of experience across investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets and strategic development.
He spent nearly two decades at Morgan Stanley in London and New York, advising companies on equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings.
Most recently, Einiö served for approximately two and a half years as Head of Corporate Development at Nokia. His experience includes helping large technology companies evaluate strategic transactions, raise capital and allocate resources across long-term growth initiatives.
At Verda, Einiö will oversee the company’s financial strategy as it invests in data centers, servers, cloud technology and the operational capacity required to serve AI developers globally.
Building AI infrastructure can require substantial upfront capital because providers must acquire specialized hardware, secure data center capacity and develop software platforms before customer demand is fully realized.
Verda’s appointment of an executive with extensive capital markets experience is intended to support the company as it balances rapid infrastructure expansion with disciplined financial planning.
Einiö will be based in London, which Verda is developing into one of its principal global locations.
The company plans to hire more than 100 employees in London over the next six months and establish a significant local base of AI, technology, finance and operational talent.
Verda is headquartered in Helsinki and currently employs approximately 150 people representing more than 30 nationalities.
The company operates across Europe, the United States and Asia and has raised more than $200 million in total funding.
Its investors include Lifeline Ventures, byFounders, J12 Ventures, Skaala, Varma and Tesi, along with financial institutions.
Verda provides on-demand access to high-performance computing infrastructure for AI workloads. Customers can provision computing capacity immediately, adjust resources according to workload requirements and discontinue usage when the capacity is no longer needed.
The model is designed to allow AI teams to access computing resources without entering a traditional sales process or committing to a long-term contract.
Verda manages the full AI cloud infrastructure stack, ranging from physical data centers and server hardware to the software platform customers use to access computing capacity.
The company said this integrated approach allows it to optimize performance, reliability and cost across the infrastructure supporting AI workloads.
Verda is also one of a limited group of NVIDIA Preferred Partners globally, providing it with a recognized relationship within the ecosystem surrounding NVIDIA’s AI computing technology.
The company is positioning its platform for frontier AI teams and other organizations that need scalable access to specialized computing resources.
Demand for this infrastructure is rising as companies train larger models, deploy AI-powered products and incorporate more computationally intensive capabilities into their operations.
Verda believes on-demand access can help customers avoid maintaining excess infrastructure during periods of lower usage while allowing them to scale quickly when workloads increase.
As CFO, Einiö will play a central role in determining how Verda funds additional capacity and allocates capital across geographic markets, infrastructure development, technology and hiring.
The company’s expansion into London is also intended to give it greater access to European technology talent and capital markets as it competes in the global AI infrastructure sector.
