Clue, a women-led period and cycle tracking health and wellness app with more than 100 million downloads worldwide, has secured what it described as a significant strategic investment from Verdane, a European growth equity firm focused on technology-enabled businesses. The company said the financing is the largest investment in Clue to date and will make Verdane the app’s largest investor.

Clue said the investment comes from Verdane’s €2 billion growth fund and follows what the company characterized as an exceptional 2025 that strengthened its growth foundations and created a clearer path toward long-term, sustainable profitability. Financial terms were not disclosed.

With Verdane as a partner, Clue said it plans to accelerate its next phase of growth by expanding product innovation and feature development, improving the user experience, scaling into new and existing markets, and increasing healthcare partnerships aimed at enabling more personalized care. The company also said it intends to invest further in clinical and research capabilities to inform product development and help close what it calls the women’s health gap, while continuing to strengthen privacy-first security measures and technology that supports personalization.

Verdane and Clue said they share a view that women’s health remains a critically underserved category in global health and wellness, and that there is an opportunity to build category-defining companies grounded in scientific rigor, ethical data practices, and long-term thinking. Clue highlighted its focus on medical research, science-based insights, and data privacy standards, as well as an approach that extends beyond fertility tracking.

Founded as a cycle tracking platform available in 23 languages across more than 190 countries, Clue said it maintains one of the largest datasets of longitudinal menstrual health information globally and regularly partners with research institutions. Verdane said it aims to support responsible scaling, product innovation, and deeper partnerships across the broader health and wellbeing ecosystem.

KEY QUOTES:

“Women are the world’s largest health and wellness consumers, controlling the majority of household spending in every market, yet they remain strikingly underserved relative to their economic power. This gap creates three systemic pain points: a profound lack of accessible female health knowledge that forces women to self-diagnose, a confusing marketplace filled with unproven products and little evidence-based guidance, and persistent barriers to accessing care. For businesses, this represents not just a social issue but a significant market failure and a compelling opportunity to build trusted, data driven solutions that meet the needs of the most influential spenders in global health and wellness.”

“Partnering with Verdane enables us to accelerate the creation of this powerful ecosystem and tackle these issues for women. Verdane’s deep expertise in growing sustainable businesses, combined with their extensive operating experience in the health and wellness space means they bring unparalleled support to the opportunity in front of us.”

Clue’s women-led, mission-driven approach and focus on meaningful impact strongly align with what Verdane stands for.”
