Verdant Capital Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the retail operations of Native Roots, one of the longest-operating cannabis dispensary operators in the United States.
The deal includes seventeen cannabis dispensaries across Colorado. Native Roots was founded in 2009 and has built a significant presence in the state’s regulated cannabis retail market.
According to the companies, the transaction is intended to provide a path forward for the Native Roots retail business while allowing operations to continue under new ownership. The agreement remains subject to regulatory approvals related to the transfer of cannabis licenses and other customary closing conditions.
Verdant Capital Partners was formed by experienced cannabis operators and investors focused on acquiring and operating regulated retail cannabis assets. The firm aims to build and scale cannabis businesses in select U.S. markets by combining operational expertise with institutional financial discipline.
If approved by regulators, the acquisition would transition the Native Roots retail platform to Verdant’s ownership while supporting the company’s employees and its continued operations across Colorado.
