Verdence Capital Advisors has acquired Harvest Investment Consultants, a Hunt Valley, Maryland-based registered investment advisory firm overseeing approximately $564 million in assets under management.
The transaction expands Verdence’s presence in its home market and strengthens its wealth management and multi-family office platform.
Founded in 1987, Harvest provides portfolio management and financial planning services to individuals and families.
The firm has built its business around long-term client relationships, customized investment advice, and comprehensive financial planning.
Harvest is led by Michael Meily, Managing Member, who will join Verdence as Managing Director and Private Wealth Advisor.
All members of Harvest’s team will also join Verdence, preserving continuity for existing clients while expanding the resources available to the advisory business.
The acquisition will give Harvest’s clients access to Verdence’s broader wealth management capabilities, including multi-family office services, private investment opportunities, and dedicated investment and financial planning teams.
These additional resources are intended to support clients whose financial requirements extend beyond traditional portfolio management.
For individuals and families managing substantial wealth, those requirements can include coordinating investment decisions with retirement planning, estate strategies, business interests, and long-term financial objectives.
Verdence intends to combine these capabilities with the personalized advisory relationships that Harvest has developed over nearly four decades.
The acquisition is also geographically significant because both firms are headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Verdence CEO Leo Kelly and Meily have known each other for several years, and the companies identified their shared approach to client relationships as an important factor behind the transaction.
For Verdence, the acquisition expands its advisory team without requiring the firm to establish operations in an unfamiliar market.
The transaction also represents Verdence’s second acquisition since receiving an equity investment in April 2026 from Wealth Partners Capital Group and HGGC’s Aspire Holdings platform.
That investment established additional financial and strategic resources to support Verdence’s acquisition-led expansion.
Wealth Partners Capital Group specializes in investing in wealth management businesses and supporting their growth through capital investment and strategic acquisitions.
HGGC’s Aspire Holdings platform similarly focuses on investments in registered investment advisory firms.
The two investors are supporting Verdence as it evaluates opportunities to expand its geographic reach and advisory capabilities.
Verdence reported approximately $5 billion in assets under management as of August 31, 2026, before the announced closing of the Harvest transaction.
In addition to its Hunt Valley headquarters, the firm maintains offices in Alexandria, Virginia; Boston, Massachusetts; Naples, Florida; and New York City.
Its business combines private wealth advisory services with multi-family office capabilities for individuals, families, executives, and business owners.
The Harvest acquisition strengthens the firm’s existing Maryland operations while providing an additional platform for continued expansion.
KEY QUOTES:
“Mike and I have known each other for years, and it was clear from the beginning that Harvest looked much like Verdence with deep client relationships and a collaborative culture. We’re headquartered in the same community, but more importantly, we share a common approach to serving clients. Harvest clients will continue to receive the personalized guidance they value, now supported by the broader team at Verdence.”
Leo Kelly, CEO Of Verdence Capital Advisors
“Verdence’s reputation is exceptional, but what mattered most to me was the alignment in how we think about clients. Leo and I share the belief that growth should be purposeful and enhance the client experience. Joining Verdence allows us to expand the resources available to clients while staying true to the values and relationships that have defined Harvest for nearly four decades.”
Michael Meily, Managing Director And Private Wealth Advisor At Verdence Capital Advisors
“This transaction brings together two well-aligned firms and positions the combined organization for continued growth. Strategic M&A will be a meaningful part of how Verdence expands its geographic reach, and the acquisition of Harvest is an important step forward.”
